 Day 1 - 7th June
Educational Workshops
Returning for the 3rd year in a row are the ever popular educational workshops that take attendees into a “deep-dive” insight of an IBMi related topic, delivered by renowned speakers and trainers.  Attendees receive a certificate on completion. The agenda is still being constructed but we expect topics to include RPG, SQL, Security, Modernisation, Storage, PHP and more.

The Steve Bradshaw and James Cole workshops are now fully booked.

 Day 2 - 8th June
Multi-Stream Sessions
The second day is a multi-stream session format that includes sessions on PHP, Security, Modernisation, Mobilisation, SQL in RPG, Apps, Upgrades, and Real-life Case  Studies, to name a few. The agenda is built to meet the requirements and needs of users of IBM i platforms.

Have you been using the platform for years and think you know how it operates?
Don’t be blinded by ignorance, come along and hear about the latest upgrades and benefits of employing this system in your company. Don’t take our word for it, this is what one of our attendees said last year: -
“I thought that I knew all that I needed to know about the IBM i, after working on it for nearly 30 years, and so for years I thought could neither spare the time nor justify the expense of attending an i-UG conference.  After being persuaded to attend, I was amazed to be proved wrong and I now realise not only how much more that there is to know, but have experienced first-hand the benefits of the training and networking opportunities presented at each conference. In short, I'm a total convert and realise that I cannot afford not to go and this year I'm bringing my boss with me!”
Testimonial of Annette Templeman from David Nieper ltd.

Organised by the only IBM i and POWER user group in the UK, this conference is a must-attend for anyone who uses these systems, (and those that don’t!) to broaden their knowledge on how to operate the system.
i-UG members benefit by having a discount to attend but at only £300 (for two days) for non-members to attend it is a cost effective educational conference that shouldn’t be missed.

Already confirmed as a presenter of one of the workshops is Paul Touhy who was one of the favourite speakers last year because of his passion, enthusiasm and knowledge of the IBM i platform. We are also welcoming back the ever-popular, and highly-regarded, Alison Butterillfrom IBM, Rochester as well as our very own Steve Bradshaw from Rowton IT, Technical Editor for PowerWire Europe and Technical Director for i-UG.

The second day starts with a Keynote 'Latest and Greatest Features from IBM i' by Alison Butterill
Alison is the World Wide Manager for the IBM i Offering, as such she is ideally placed to give us an update on our favourite operating system.  She will share her insights on "latest and greatest" features from both POWER and IBM i. If we are lucky, she may even throw in the odd hint on what, and when, we can see next from IBM.
This keynote is not to be missed! Welcome to International Power 2013
Tuesday 24th September, Milton Keynes.

2013 is a special year for NiSUG as it is their 20th Anniversary and the 25th Anniversary of the IBM-i system and, as such, want the conference to be a bit of fun as well as educational for their members and delegates alike.
The conference will contain the usual sessions and workshop’s covered in streams of Technical, Strategy, IBM & Lab, Solution; delivered by independent experts on the IBM-i and Power systems but will also contain a visit to the Computer Museum where you can learn about the pioneering first steps of computers, their influence in the outcome of the war and the input they have on our lives today.
The day will begin at the conference venue where delegates will be welcomed by NiSUG’s Chairman Mike Ryan who will explain the day’s agenda; soon after you will be transported the Computer Museum where the keynote will take place followed by a tour of the museum, then its back to the venue for the remaining day’s sessions which will have a theme of Security & Modern Day Code Breakers.
To celebrate our 20th Anniversary we have a "Birthday Party" in the expo area after the last session of the day where you can enjoy a drink and some food with fellow peers and discuss the issues that have been raised during the day. We are also planning some entertainment for the evening but don't want to spoil the surprise yet!

We are currently building an agenda that will cover business issues for the IBM-i & Power Series users and will post more information on this page in the near future.

The cost to attend this conference is just £100 + vat.  Register today!

For information about NiSUG, their regional meetings or about how to join the User Group please see their details in the “Communities” tab above.

International Power 2012

Returning to London for the second year is the IBM i & Power themed one day conference brought to you in association with COMMON GB / NiSUG User Group. Independent experts from Europe and the United States will be delivering sessions on PHP, RPG, Modernisation, Security, Mobile, Power, everything to to do with IBM-i and Power Systems! Four session tracks will be available for delegates, Technical, Strategy, IBM & Lab, and Solution Tracks. More information can be found on the "Agenda" page on this site.

The Keynote: Come and listen to one of the most iconic user presentations we have ever had at a COMMON GB event as Mats Lidstrom relates the journey of developing and implementing the huge ICE Copyright database. At ICE, Mats has set the IT strategy and has been leading the data modeling and the overall technical application solution for the Music Copyright application that was built from scratch using PHP, RPG and Power-i.

Workshop: New to the schedule will be a workshop titled "Upgrade 5.x to 7.1, Simple, Quick, Worth it! " which will be delivered by COMMON GB's very own technical director Steve Bradshaw. The main aim of the workshop is to clear up much of the Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt that has arisen in recent times over IBM i Upgrades in general and the move from V5.4 in particular and by doing so you'll maintain a supported platform. Don't forget your notebook!

Mobile App Showcase: The mobile app showcase "App-i-Days" will be one of the highlights of the event and you will be able to dip in and out to see how a series of major vendors deliver IBM i functionality to mobile devices. If you are looking at mobile applications for your company you could save yourself a lot of time just visiting the Showcase.

The original Mi-Pint evening is back! After the last session of the day join your fellow i-series/power peers, speakers and vendor solution providers in the FREE social network evening Mi-Pint. Beer, wine, soft drinks and hot finger food will be served to delegates while they discuss the hot topics of the day.
